Nakkas Shipping & Trading Ltd is one of the oldest Turkish shipping companies; established originally in 1860 in Mersin / Turkey . The core of the business at the beginning was serving to several worldwide-known Owners operating vessels as agents, which is still an important part of the business activities of today.

In the following years, the company expanded its business and started chartering, brokering and shipmanagement.

In 2002 the company moved its head office to Istanbul right in the heart of Turkish shipping and trading market. Presently the company has branch agency offices in Mersin , Bandirma, Iskenderun , Izmir and also has sub-agents at all remaining Turkish ports.

The company also acts as the general agents of “Egyptian Navigation Company” (E.N.C), the Egyptian state shipping line and "Federal Arab Maritime” (FAMCO) in Turkey . Total number of vessels controlled/owned by these two companies are about 20 which are trading mainly in Mediterranean Sea, Black Sea, North European ports and Adriatic .
